Din Tai Fung Covid Status (February 2021) Open for outdoor seating, takeout, deliveryDetails PleaseThey are most famous for their soup dumplings, which come in a variety of flavors. Our personal fav are the Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Dumplings. Make sure you also order at least a few sides, their bok choy is awesome and their shrimp fried rice is always a great classic. Pro Tip: Best way to make the dipping sauce is to go slow and taste as you mix. A small amount of the fresh ginger will be in each dipping bowl. Add a little vinegar and soy sauce to taste with chili oil for spice. The Din Tai Fung ratio is 3 parts vinegar to 1 part soy sauce, but we prefer a little more soy than vinegar. What Our Friends Are SayingEater: "For those who aren’t familiar with DTF, their signature xiao long bao, or soup dumplings, are made fresh every day in fish tank rooms while their varied menu of noodles, sauteed greens, meat dishes, and appetizers stretches across the canon of Chinese favorites. The Taiwan-based chain draws heavily from Shanghai cuisine, with everything from the XLB to the sauteed rice cakes. Prices are on par with other Din Tai Fung locations around LA, reaching about $11 a plate and rounding out to perhaps $40 a person, depending on the size of the order. It’s certainly not cheap, but it’s worth the price for standard-bearing Chinese food."Timeout: "Din Tai Fung is now a major international dim sum player, and here in L.A. we have three locations alone: Century City, Glendale and Arcadia, our first outpost. The traditional pork soup dumplings are a treasure, but it's hard to go wrong with anything off the menu (see also: the truffle soup dumplings, the steamed cod dumplings, the noodles with pickled mustard greens). Just order it all."
