Ready to get out into nature but not really prepped for an all-day hike? Well, the Hidden Valley Nature Trail in Joshua tree National Park is for you! This 1-mile loop is perfect for a walk, a scramble up a few rocks, or even a little run if you feel so inclined.
I’m an avid hiker who loves a good summit, but I did this hike with a group of friends whose activity levels ranged from walking a few times a week to virtually nonexistent, and everyone had a great time.
A FEW TIPS:
It cost $30 to enter Joshua tree National and the fee will allow you entry for up to 7 days (#protip: buy a “Parks Pass” online for $80 for free entry into all US National Parks).
There is very little cell service when you get into the park so if you’re in multiple cars make sure and pick a designated meeting time at the trailhead beforehand.
Parking over the weekend can be a pain so be prepared for that.
Explore more trails! Hidden Valley Trail is one of many so grab a brochure from the ranger upon entry and get ready for a great day.
As always, respect the land that you are on and enjoy this break from city life!
BONUS: THE PERFECT SPOT IN OR AROUND JOSHUA TREE FOR...
I work in brand marketing and, through my career, was able to discover my love for traveling, It all started in pre uber days when a friend of mine started a door to door hostel shuttle service and brought me on to do marketing and...drive! It's been a ride since!
