If my husband didn’t want to get dragged on vacations to bubble hotels in the vineyards of Mexico… he shouldn’t have married me. But lucky for both of us, he did and there we found ourselves amongst the grapes in Valle de Guadalupe.
We’re talking of course about the Campera Hotel. A wine lover's dream with the beauty only Mexico can produce. It’s an easy 5-ish-hour drive from LA yet you feel completely removed
The appeal of this trip and more notably this first hotel stop on our trip was the same as that of any new experience. We’d never been and the time off work felt best spent moving through our travel bucket list.
When people ask me how these unique stays level up I have to say it’s all about your expectations going in. If you walk in with 5-star eyes you’ll be let down. For Campera specifically, if say make sure you pack in a duffel- roads are rocky and it’s definitely not suitable for a roller bag. For most off-the-grid or unique stays, I’d always say… pack light and this spot is no different. The real joy here is you are situated in nature with every luxury you could need.
