A rooftop a day, keeps the blues away!
This is best suited for someone foreign to Brooklyn who’s already visited all the landmarks in NYC. Works well for a staycation too. Thursday through Saturday in the summer are best for this itinerary.
Stay at the William Vale. All rooms have a view of the city (Manhattan), and it’s gorgeous at night. Go for a late lunch or an early dinner at Le Crocodile, across the street. I sat at the bar and ordered a croque monsieur (delish!) and had the best cocktail(s). Yes, two, because the first one (Veracruz) was so good I had to have another one (Mezcal). The bartender recommended a cherry cheesecake off the menu and it was so good! Then, walk it off. Brooklyn has gorgeous wall art which makes for a perfect backdrop. Check out Domino Park at sunset. You would be enjoying a gorgeous view of the city. You can sit by the water and people-watch, mostly locals. Return to the hotel and catch your breath (lol). If the night is clear (for perfect views), make your way to Westlight, the rooftop restaurant and bar at the William Vale for a light dinner and some more drinks (you are on vacay — no limits on the booze, jk, not really!). The vibe here is great so I would recommend sitting inside or outside, your choice. But do not leave without checking out the view. Grab a cocktail, sit, and take it all in. The breeze on a summer night on this rooftop is everything.
Rise early and catch a bus (B62) to DUMBO for pictures at the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge viewpoint. Sunrise is gorgeous and the best time to beat the tourist crowds.
Grab coffee and freshly baked pastries at FEED where you can shop for a cause! I love the concept. Walk by the water and hang out at Pebble Beach. While you are there check out the West Elm flagship store around the corner on Main Street. Make your way back to Williamsburg and grab a couple of slices of $1 pizza at Grimaldis for lunch. Hang out by the elevated pool at the William Vale in the afternoon while you enjoy a cocktail and some music by the DJ! Grab dinner at AlMar and walk 5 min for drinks at Harriet Rooftop at the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.
Wake up and grab coffee at Partners on your way to the subway, an approximately ten minute walk from the hotel! Grab the R towards Bay Ridge and get off on 4 Ave-9 St. You are in Park Slope where you can check out the brownstones and go for some indie shopping at Something Else on Fifth. While you are there, grab tacos for lunch at Casa Azul! Return to Williamsburg for drinks at the Watertower Bar at the Williamsburg Hotel. Stay longer for dinner and more drinks (yes!) by the rooftop pool where there’s likely a DJ Wednesday through Saturday!
