We went to Kaua'i, Hawaii for our honeymoon back in September 2021 and came away with some must-go restaurants. Check out a few of my faves on Kaua'i, and if you're looking to go on some adventures, check out my other travel journal: What to Do in Kaua'i.
If you're looking for a quick bite or morning coffee, check out Little Fish Coffee. It's such a cute cafe for coffee, acai bowls, and breakfast bagels. You order at a window and eat at outdoor picnic tables. Be prepared to wait though -- it's a busy spot!
There are also tons of amazing spots to get shaved ice on the island, which is a great way to cool off on a hot and humid Hawaii day. My two favorite spots are Wishing Well Shaved Ice (North Shore) and The Fresh Shave (South Shore). The Fresh Shave might have to take the cake though. All are made with fresh fruit flavoring, and I personally loved “The Chevron” (lime + coconut) and “The Professor” (berries + açaí). Lappert's Hawaii is another great local spot with unreal ice cream and milkshakes! If you're not feeling ice cream, they also have awesome baked goods and coffee.
Thinking about lunch and dinner? Obviously, you can't leave Hawaii without fresh fish and poke. I got hands down the best poke I've ever had at Koloa Fish Market. They close at 3pm and run out of the most popular flavors, so get there with ample time for more of a selection.
Beach House Restaurant has unreal ocean views so be sure to come before sunset! Grab a drink and sit on the lawn as the sun goes down. We didn't make it to Eating House 1849 this time, but I've only heard great things about this Hawaii Inspired Euro-Asian Restaurant -- it's definitely on my list for next time. Another spot you could check out is AMA, which has great ramen and even better mountain views. All of these dinner spots are quite popular (and for good reason) so I recommend making reservations in advance.
Tahiti Nui Restaurant is another great spot -- it has a tropical menu and amazing drinks (famous for their mai tais). Come for the Taco Tuesday specials and $6 margs! Or, if you're looking for a more laid back spot and craving pizza, Scorpacciata Neapolitan Pizza's food truck is the place to go. Also, you must get the fries.
